Numbers have stabilized, progress is being made with vaccination in Panama, and all sectors of the economy are open. Below you will find information around the Corona situation, the vaccination strategy and the impact of the pandemic on life, travel and the economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Health (figures as of 20 July 2021)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are currently <strong>13.133 active cases<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>R-value<\/strong> is 0,99<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>mortality rate<\/strong> is 1.6% (global average 2.2%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Panama performs the same <strong>number of tests <\/strong>per capita as Germany.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The percentage of <strong>positive tests<\/strong> is currently 7 &#8211; 10% daily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The<strong> intensive care beds<\/strong> have never been fully utilized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Corona vaccination<\/strong> (Biontech\/Pfizer und AstraZeneca) started in Panama in January. Approximately 30% have received at least one dose of vaccine and 16% are fully vaccinated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Since Panama has a <strong>very young population<\/strong> (\u00d8 26 years), people aged 60 and over were already vaccinated in phase 1.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>So far, 10% of the Panamanian population has been infected with Corona. Taking into account the estimated number of unreported cases, this figure should be about <strong>25%<\/strong>, which is much closer to <strong>herd immunity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>graph<\/strong> shows the weekly trend (March 20 &#8211; July 21) of new infections (bars) and the test positive rate (curve). The sharp increase in June 2021 began with the economic opening. The increase in November 2021 is due to the holidays in early November (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa.com\/sociedad\/data-studio-casos-de-coronavirus-covid-19-en-panama\/\" target=\"_blank\">data link<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"842\" height=\"356\" src=\"https:\/\/www.frapan-invest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Bildschirmfoto-2021-07-21-um-09.17.56-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5934\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.frapan-invest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Bildschirmfoto-2021-07-21-um-09.17.56-1.png 842w, https:\/\/www.frapan-invest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Bildschirmfoto-2021-07-21-um-09.17.56-1-300x127.png 300w, https:\/\/www.frapan-invest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Bildschirmfoto-2021-07-21-um-09.17.56-1-768x325.png 768w, https:\/\/www.frapan-invest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Bildschirmfoto-2021-07-21-um-09.17.56-1-600x254.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 842px) 100vw, 842px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Economy<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>All sectors of the economy are open.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Restaurants<\/strong> and <strong>stores<\/strong> in Panama City (other regions may differ) are allowed to open until 11.00 p.m., although many restaurants, hotels and stores are still closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>support payment<\/strong> for socially weak people is 120 USD per month. As unemployment has skyrocketed, this amount is barely enough for many poorer families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current estimates predict <strong>economic growth<\/strong> <strong>of +12% in 2021<\/strong> (2020: -17%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Life in Panama<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The government measures the corona risk of the individual regions on the basis of certain indicators (R-value, hospital occupancy rate, etc.) and adopts <strong>region-specific measures<\/strong> on the basis of this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Panama City there is currently a <strong>curfew<\/strong> from 0.00am &#8211; 04.00am daily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Travel to Panama<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Since 12 October 2020 Panama Citys<strong> International Airport is open<\/strong> again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/panatimes.com\/minsa-establishes-new-requirements-for-the-entry-of-vaccinated-and-non-vaccinated-travelers-to-panama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Current entry regulations<\/a><strong> <\/strong>(as of 26.07.2021) can be found in the previous link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Departing travelers<\/strong> can take a Corona test at Panama City Airport (if required by their home country).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FRAPAN-Invest<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Klaus Happ&#8217;s company &#8220;FRAPAN-Invest&#8221; advises investors who want to invest in <strong>real estate in Panama<\/strong>.
