Property tax is progressive and is based on the value of the property in Panama. As a result of the new regulations, the tax rate for an apartment with a value of e.g. USD 400,000 is reduced by 70% to an average of 0.63% per annum.

This is of course good news for property owners and investors in Panama, as it significantly reduces the tax burden and makes an investment even more lucrative.
